Ads from 1896 Truth Magazine

I just love these old bike ads.  I have made them into digital stamps and posted them on Digital Two for Tuesday.

A Few More From La Vogue 1910

Yesterday I posted the cover of this beautiful booklet from 1910.  The booklet is about 5x8 inches.  When I purchase it from eBay I did not realize it was so small but the illustrations are lovely.  Good things do come in small packages.

Be sure to stop by Monday for three more images from this vintage booklet.

Saturday Image Bonus 269

First things first.  I found a great site from the NY Library that has tons of images you can download.  Here is the link.  There are lots of vintage images.  Be sure to explore as I only gave you the link to one category but there are many more.

Today I have images from a La Vogue catalogue from 1910.  The illustrations are by Anna Burnham Westerman.

Painting Again

Sorry, I have not been as diligent about posting lately. I gone crazy over online drawing/painting classes. I had stopped painting and drawing over the last few years and mostly concentrated on my collage work, cards and vintage images. The classes are a wonderful refresher as well as very instructional on how to use many products I have not used since college.

Ok. Don't judge me. Here are all the classes I have taken or am taking over the last 2 months; Supplies Me and I Heart Drawing by Jane Davenport, Colordrop Flowers and Painting Poppies by Martha Lever, Suzi Blu's Gypsy Art, Paint Poppy Master Class by Michelle Brown, Lifebook 2013 and Fabulous Faces by Tamara Laporte. As you can see I am addicted. I highly recommend them all. The teachers are each unique and have so much knowledge to share.

Below is a painting I made using tips and information from Tamara's amazing class Fabulous Faces. I am only in the second week of this class. I still need a lot more training but I am pleased with the results so far. For this painting I used Watercolor Crayons Caran D'Ache Neocolor II. The stamping was done using Ranger Paint Dabbers in Copper and Juniper.

Saturday Image Bonus 268

Ok. I am amazed by some of these ads. They basically are selling beer to nursing moms, the sick and to children. I guess in the days before regulations they could market to anyone.
